Sound and Fury
When do our actions matter? "God looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there
Both Christian theology and modern science suggest this world is temporary and our actions are insignificant.
Modern Science suggests we're just a recent animal that will inevitably go extinct. The traces of our existence will wash away and all that we have done will have no lasting effect.
Christian theology presents a similar concept. We are incapable of doing good.
Psalm 53:2-3
were any that did understand, that did seek God. Every one of them is gone
back: they are altogether become filthy; there is none that do good, no, not
one."
Since in the Christian worldview, doing good is all that matters there's a hopelessness in this verse. We cannot fulfill our purpose, we are resigned to living without meaning.
In 1 Corinthians 13:1-3 the Apostle Paul sheds some light on this concept.
"If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing."
This suggests even after salvation, our activities are not guaranteed to be worthwhile and meaningful. Our actions and our lives only accomplish anything meaningful when we do them with love.
A life without love, even a Christian life, is sound and fury signifying nothing. We can not live in pure love until we have met Love incarnate.

I like that you wrote on this topic.
Love is a word that only God can fully understand the full meaning of. Love is used too frequently and has lost a lot of its meaning in todays world. How unfortunate.
Love is what Christianity is based on. Christ died because He loves us.
Sometimes I forget to look beyond the sinner and just love them. To love is what we are called to do, because as Christians we are to live in Christ.
L.O.V.E. a beautiful word, that I can only hope and pray that when my time here on Earth is done and God calls me home, that I will have been able to truly grasp what it means to love completely, purely, earnestly and intently.
And speaking of LOVE, I do love you my sweet precious husband. I am signing anonymously because my account was closed, but I wanted you to know it was me.
